Every year, the makers honour greats in their field. People who positively influence the gastronomy, hotel, wine and bar scene.  According to publisher Jürgen Pichler and his team, it is the "biggest and toughest industry award".    ## 10,000 nominees The numbers show the effort that goes into the awards: 10'000 nominees, 100 Best Chefs, 50 Best Sommeliers, 50 Best Bars, as well as special categories such as Gastronomer, Caterer, Sous Chef or Patissier of the Year. Innovative spirit, courage, creativity, preservation of tradition at the highest level and further development of the industry are the most important criteria for nomination.
