protel integration for hotel restaurants

protel checks in. aleno sets the table.

With aleno, your service team knows every wish of your hotel guests before they take a seat in your restaurant. For protel Air and protel On‑Premise.

«With the integration of aleno and protel we optimise the processes and internal communication. No more lists and everyone always has up-to-date information!»

01

How the reservations are created

You define once what should happen. After that, it runs by itself every day.

Once

Set the rule

For example: half board means dinner at 7 pm in the restaurant, full board adds lunch on the terrace.

With every booking

protel books, aleno reserves

protel provides the stay and the package. aleno creates the reservations for the stay automatically.

When things change

Everything follows

Extension, cancellation or a new package: you only update protel, and the restaurant is up to date right away.

02

What changes day to day

Rooms and F&B work together seamlessly, all by themselves.

Recognise

Hotel guests recognised instantly

Room, package and stay are shown on the reservation. Including whether the guest has already checked out, so no bill is left open.

Paperless

No more arrivals list

Nobody prints it for the umpteenth time. Whatever changes in protel shows up in the restaurant right away.

Error-free

Automatic, in real time

No manual copying, no forgotten intolerance, no double booking.

Alignment

In sync with every department

Front desk, concierge, restaurant and kitchen work from the same information. No calls, no notes.

Availability

Free tables are really free

No more estimated buffer. Whatever your hotel guests don't need can be booked by outside guests.

Seating

Same table for the whole stay

Hotel guests sit at the same table every evening, or you move them to another outlet in the property.

03

How protel is connected to aleno

Not an IT project, but not a single click either.

Step 1

Request the connection

Through aleno support. Depending on the protel version, the interface is enabled by protel.

Step 2

Connect and import

aleno sets up the connection. Existing guest profiles are imported once, so your team knows the guests from day one.

Step 3

Set the rules

Together: which packages, which outlet, which shift. Done once instead of every day.

Why protel and aleno work well together

protel has been at home in German-speaking hospitality for decades and is part of Planet today, as protel Air in the cloud or protel On‑Premise. Many properties with their own restaurant run on it. aleno takes the data from protel to where the guest is sitting: the table.

04

Which data flows from protel to aleno

Everything the service team needs to know about a hotel guest is on the reservation.

Once protel and aleno are connected, aleno takes over hotel bookings and guest profiles. Whenever something changes in protel, it is up to date in aleno too.

From protelWhat the service team does with it
Name, email, phoneThe guest is recognised and doesn't need to introduce themselves again.
Days of stayIt's clear on which evenings the guest is in the house.
Room number and categoryThe reservation is linked to the room.
Package and meal planThe basis for automatic reservations, per day of stay if needed.
Personal notesWishes and intolerances are visible at the table.
Which way the data flows. Guest data and bookings come from protel. Comments from aleno flow back to protel, so the front desk sees them too. What the service team learns about a guest, such as their favourite table, preferences or last time's wine, stays in the aleno guest profile and is there again on the next visit.

FAQ

Which restaurant software integrates with protel?

aleno is the software hotel restaurants run on and is directly integrated with protel. Guest profiles and hotel bookings from protel are available in aleno, and table reservations for half and full board are created automatically from the booked package.

Which data does aleno take from protel?

The guest's name, email and phone number, days of stay, room number and category, package and meal plan, and personal notes for the restaurant.

Are half and full board reserved automatically?

Yes. You define once which package triggers which reservation, for example dinner at 7 pm in the restaurant. After that, the reservations for the stay are created automatically.

Does aleno work with protel Air and protel On‑Premise?

Yes, with both. The integration is available for protel Air and protel On‑Premise.

Can aleno process the meal plan from protel per day?

Yes, if needed. aleno then reads the meal plan for each day of the stay, and reservations are created exactly on the days the guest has booked a meal.

Does data also flow back from aleno to protel?

Yes. Comments from aleno flow back to protel, so the front desk sees them too.

What happens when a booking changes in protel?

The reservations in aleno follow, including cancellations, extensions or a new package. You only maintain protel.

Can hotel guests keep the same table for their entire stay?

Yes. Reservations for hotel guests can be placed at the same table and time for the entire stay, and moved to another restaurant in the property when needed.

Does every restaurant need its own protel connection?

No. One connection serves all outlets of the property. Each outlet is still configured separately, so breakfast, restaurant and bar keep their own rules.

What does it take to connect protel and aleno?

The property uses protel and aleno. The connection is requested through aleno support; depending on the protel version, the interface is enabled by protel. Then you set the rules together.

aleno is the software hotel restaurants run on, integrated with protel. As of October 2026.
